with a gravel start, we hit the road hard. When we stopped for lunch at an old fashioned car hop and we were told about the F1 tornado that had touched down there. We ended the day with 116 miles where we found LIGHTING BUGS! good night
did you cross the missippi? that was when we first saw lighting bugs. Towns towns, you know I what to know towns. Good luck, we head to seattle tomorrow and off for switzerland. So if I miss a few days, dont worry I did not get eaten but a monster. Good luck, tail winds and good weather!! barb
I would just like to say that everyone needs to read the comment of the preceding day that was written by John's "friend", Carl. It shows what desperate straits the cycling party is in. After it was discovered that the McCarthy's are cycling the country without the luxury of a map all we have been getting on CNN has been the Las Vegas odds as to whether or not they will survive. (Have you even heard anything about Lindsay or the Kardashians in the last ten days?) Afterall the only known party of adventure seekers who went mapless on their cross country trip and successfully returned to tell about it was the Lewis and Clark expedition. Could the lightening bugs that Colin thinks he is seeing really be the lights of the pavilion in Riverfront Park in downtown Spokane. Could they be cycling in circles? Will they confuse the duck-pond in Manito Park as Lake Erie? Notice that Colin didn't even list the name of a city today that he "thinks" they are in. Ed D., what do you think?
